Fun – Fitness – Friends
This is difficult but it must be done. We
will be reducing the footprint of our program to run solely out of Kroc Center. The facilities cost of DiVentures has grown
to a point of pricing us out. The low number of participants for College of St Mary made it financially difficult to keep
offering practices. Those who swam at DiVentures or CSM, we have space available at the Kroc practices and would welcome
The contract at Kroc has not been solidified so the 2021 rates have not been determined. We will be continuing
the same model of two guaranteed practices with the opportunity of signing up for one extra swim per week. I ask each of
you to send me a note if you plan on returning next year so I can start planning for the week of January 4th.
Don't Forget - Holiday Schedule
Kroc Center Practices - No Practice December 25 & 26 and January
DiVentures Practices - No Practice December 25.
College of St Mary Practices - No Practice after December
Don't Forget - You Must Remember USMS!
Everyone needs to be a 2021 USMS member before
they come to swim practice in January. If you signed up for USMS after November 2020 then your membership is good for 2021.
USMS membership is not a suggestion - this is a MUST. USMS is the insurance arm of our program in which everyone in the pool
and on the deck must have a USMS membership in order for each of us to be covered. On the registration form, our club is
Our program means many things to many people. For some
it's about weight loss or weight maintenance. For others it's about stress relief. For some it is their choice of fitness.
You may have the competitive itch: swimming or triathlons. Just as goals are varied, so are individual personalities. Please
approach each other with open minds and appreciation for our differences. We have a great program that strives to make room
for anyone who wants to participate in a structured workout.
I have some big news!
UNO is adding a men's swimming & diving team! College swimming hasn't received a lot of good news lately, but here is
some positive news for our sport. We will be up and running for the 2021-22 school year.
We look forward to being
the ONLY Division I men's swimming & diving program in the state of Nebraska and a premier program for male and female
swimmers in our region. The next few weeks will be somewhat hectic with the news reaching the swimming and diving community.
I want to extend an invitation to each of you to write or call me and share your thoughts. Thank you for your continued
support during this exciting time! Go Mavs!!!
I am thankful for all of you swimming with us and making
this a wonderful program. Wishing you all a tremendous 2021. Cheers! Todd
