Going Well
The transition to 5:30 a.m. weekday practices
has been going extremely well. Our participation rate is actually pretty good, even though membership is slightly down.
Swimmers that are signed up are definitely getting in the pool more often and that is great news. Practice has
been starting a few minutes late, mostly due to the coach not starting on time. This will soon be corrected. On
the swimmers' side, it helps determine lane dynamics better when everyone arrives on time. If you are habitually late,
then please consider modifying your morning start time or eliminate a step in your routine ( please keep the teeth brushing
step). In the near future, if you arrive late, you may have to knock on the door because the door will be closing at
5:30 a.m. in colder weather.
For those that are just a few minutes behind schedule, please just hop
into your lane and copy what the person in front of you is doing :)
First Meet
This Friday, November 13, will be the CSM's first swim meet. It will be at 6 pm at CSM pool.
As we finish our practice this Friday, it would be great to wish the team all the best. Or better yet come to
the meet to cheer them on. It is always a good feeling when you have some fans supporting you. Go Flames!
Save the Date
The annual Holiday Social will be held
on Saturday, December 12 at 6:00 pm. The event will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at 60th and Walnut
St. More details will be coming out soon.
Thanksgiving
My favorite holiday of the year is soon arriving. Thanksgiving is the BEST of all Holidays with friends,
family, food, and leftovers - it just doesn't get much better than this. If you do not have any plans for Thanksgiving,
then please consider this an invitation to join me at my home. Dinner is at 3 pm (and you can be late or early). Singles,
couples, current members, past members - all are welcome! If you would like to be part of a great meal, contact me at
tsamland@unomaha.edu - hope to see a few of you J
Eat, Drink, and be Merry
The College of Saint Mary campus will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday. No practice on
Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (11/26 - 11/28).
Inclement Weather Information
What happens if the weather is looking a little dicey? Well if you are not sure, call 554-2346.
That is the office phone number for Todd at UNOmaha. The voice mail will be updated 30 minutes prior to the start
of practice.
How Hip are U?
You know
we have a web site! But did you know Steve Schueber has been busy setting up a new venue for interaction - he has taken
us into the world of Facebook. Look up Omaha Masters in the Facebook search box. Get connected and interact with
your fellow swimmers.
Thank you.
