No Practice
We will not have swim practice Saturday, May 23 &
Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend).
Memorial
Day Run
Have you considered doing the Boys Town Memorial Day Run? It’s not swimming but it is helping out
one of our swimmers, Mary Pat Moeller. Mary Pat works with the Boys Town and part of the funds goes to the Cochlear
Implant program in her department. Hopefully you will join me – I will be at the end of the pack. Check
out the web site at www.boystownhospital.org/memorialrun/
More
Practices
Yes, more Masters practices will be offered during the summer months of May, June,
July, and August. Practices will be held from 7-8 am on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Our regular 6-7 am time
slot will be held during the five weekdays. If the lanes look manageable then the early bird
swimmers can swim some extra yards with the new time slot. Please spread the word to your friends!
Volunteer Coach/ or Chicago
On Friday, May 15 (after practice) I will be driving
to Chicago to attend a Coaches Clinic. To help keep practice going on Saturday, May 16 – a volunteer coach is
needed! It is distance day, and you can make up a fun practice (or I can make up the practice).
Also, if anyone would like a free ride to Chicago then you are welcome to join me. I will be leaving
any time on Friday, May 15, preferably before noon. I will be leaving Chicago before 4 pm on Sunday, May 18. You
would not be expected to go to the coaches’ clinic but if you have friends or family in Chicago you could visit them
for a couple of days.
Breakfast Celebration
Our Masters program was revitalized on May 5, 2003 – Cinco De Mayo, the beginning of our
fitness revolution. To celebrate, come join us for breakfast. Any and all are welcome to swim with us on Saturday,
May 2. After practice we will head over to the Farm House (next to Mangelsons). Practice is not a requirement
to come join us just for breakfast about 8:30 am
